Welcome to Order of Glass !
Order of Glass is a collection of bowls, plates, candle holders, spoon rests, soap dishes, etc. that I design and make in my studio in Massachusetts. Using glass fusing methods, I am making pieces that are functional and beautiful.
These 6 mm thick glass creations are durable and hard to break. Sometimes small air bubbles get into glass, which is normal. Air bubbles are formed, when glass is melting in a kiln, and may get trapped during glass cooling and hardening. These air bubbles are not obtrusive.
No two items are identical not only because I tend to explore new designs and color combinations, but also because of the nature of the manufacturing process itself. First, glass is cut by hand and then glass pieces are assembled according to design. To form the final creation, glass goes through two heating steps in the kiln, each step requiring one workday to complete. First, glass pieces are fused together in a flat arrangement and then shaped into bowls, plates, spoon rests and so on.
Everything that you see on the shopping pages are readily available for shipping. I also keep a portfolio of products that I have made in the past. I can make similar items upon request, if you wish so.
I also assembled sets of plates and bowls which I grouped together based on matching design or colors. If you are interested in purchasing sets grouped to your own liking, I will be happy to make them specifically for you.
